People are very friendly in Texas

I've always know it, but it has been some time since I've lived here--people are friendly in Texas. I am amazed at how polite people are about letting others in a lane while driving. Three lanes of traffic will leave open a wide gap when stopped at a light to allow anyone who might want to cross get through to a store or exit. It really is rare compared to the rest of the world.

What makes Texans--and people in the South--so friendly?

What roads are you driving on? You must not have been on 75 this morning. But for the most part, you are correct. It's all about the southern hospitality, even in north Texas.

I usually don't mind letting anyone in when they need it for anything they may need. As long as everyone around me sees it and understands that is how you are supposed to treat people. Maybe they will pay it forward.

Chad,

That is another star in your crown!

JB,

Speaking of "southern" hospitality in "North" Texas--I once heard that some new followers of Christ in Northern Brazil were wondering why they had to be "Southern Baptists."

I like that.

I must be driving in the wrong part of Texas then...every day on the Tollway I'm convinced it is a NASCAR sanctioned raceway the way I get cutoff continuously.
