Liberty Church Helping 83 children at Thanksgiving and Christmas

Our Childrens' Outreach Team tells me that we will be providing Thanksgiving meals and Christmas presents for 83 children this Holiday. Twenty-three of these families will be from the community, and seven will be from our congregation. Praise God!

Our children's outreach begins in the fall, as we provide backpacks and school supplies for 100-200 children. Then we follow-up with certain of these families, providing them with love and financial help during the Holidays, at Easter, and at VBS. The goal is to help people who are in need, to show people God's love, and to hopefully cause people to wonder why we would love and serve them so many times. This can lead to a sharing of our faith and Bible study.

Please be praying for this ministry!

It's a great opportunity to be able to reach out, give what you can, and show people that not the whole world has gone bad. Sacrifice and love, above all, is what we need to learn from Christ, and when we do, we can bring people to him. I'm proud to know that our church family helps out this much. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Thanks for your offer to help. You could help in a few different ways. If you would like to, you can help deliver these gifts with some others from the church at Thanksgiving. At Christmas, you can contact a family and go and do the Christmas shopping for the family. Or you can go to our website and give financially to this ministry. Go to the "e-giving" link on our website, and there you can specific funds that go to "Children's Outreach Ministry."

I too am "proud" of the heart of this church, that people are so willing to reach out to the poor and needy. The world expects that the church should be doing this, and we should.

Matt, glad to have you back in the discussion!
